Thai massage is great for athletes, increasing mobility, range of motion, flexibility, injury prevention and optimal movement.
Thai massage is traditionally done on the floor, fully clothed in comfortable clothing, using compression and stretching along the Sen Sib energy lines. I had the honor of learning Thai massage in its place of origin in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I recieved Thai massage everyday fully immersing myself in the culture. To me Thai massage feels like a grounding energy massage. I personally feel stimulated and energetic after compared to feeling the detox and restfulness after a general Swedish massage.
Benefits of Thai Massage-
Thai massage has many health benefits, from enhancing flexibilty to lowering stress to relieving muscular tension.
Increased Energy
Research has shown that Thai massage can increase people’s physical energy levels.
One randomized trial examined the effects of Thai and Swedish massages in people who were experiencing fatigue.
The results revealed that Thai massage increased energy and mental stimulation, while Swedish massage was more likely to improve relaxation and sleep.
Reduce Stress
Thai massage incorporates Yoga-like stretches to reduce stress, improve range of motion and circulation. The gradual, gentle stretching will enhance the person’s flexibility over time.
Improved Circulation
Thai massage can promote the circulation of both blood and lymph through the use of gentle stretches. These Yoga-like stretches increase blood circulation, which fills the body’s tissues with oxygen. This helps promote cell growth and heart health.
More Mobility & Balance
Thai massage may also improve the circulation of the fluid in the joints, or synovial fluid, which reduces friction between the joints. This can improve joint mobility, balance and range of motion.
Structural Integration:
11 Sessions
Sessions will range anywhere from 90 minutes to 2 hours that includes repatterining exercises given at the end of every session to help the client continue towards alignment and ease.
SOMA Structural Integration® is a myofascial organizing treatment performed on connective tissue, muscles, joints, and bones, by applying specific depth, and directionality to advance the client toward optimal efficiency functioning in time and space. Unlike traditional forms of massage SOMA’s primary focus is working with the connective tissue. This tissue facilitates movement in the body, organizes structure, supports nervous and circulatory system functions. Structural integration helps reorganize and reeducate the fascia, or connective tissues within the body to release chronic pain, align structural imbalance, mobilize energy, and enhance the body’s relationship to gravity by supporting suspension mechanics. It has its origins in the work of Dr. Ida P. Rolf (Rolfing), 10 session series. Structural, otherwise known as Neuromuscular Integration, can be done as a stand-alone session or for long-lasting optimal results in the 10 session series where each session targets a specific part of the body. At the end of each session, time is dedicated to re-posterizing exercises and body mechanics. Soma is an interactive and clothed form of bodywork (boxers, swimsuits, biker shorts, tube top) Allowing the client to get on and off the table throughout the session. This modality asks for presence, participation, and awareness. NOT YOUR TYPICAL FORM OF BODYWORK.
There are many different styles of Lomi Lomi massage. Sacred Lomi uses flowing forearm massage, presence, prayer, Aloha, Breath Work and sacred touch to offer a space of unconditional love and acceptance. The intention of the work is to support the recipient to release anything that is no longer serving them and fully embody that which is authentic and in alignment with their soul. Can be done 2 or 4 handed.
This massage utilizes ancient Shamanic practices, Hawaiin music and is a dance flow over the body which can aid the client to have emotional release, DMT like experiences and much more. It is the gentlest form of shedding and getting back to the authentic self that I have found.
Ashiatsu Massage is as a style of bodywork done by the massage therapist using their bare feet, standing on the table, with a ladder on the ceiling. This type of massage is able to offer deep, concentrated strokes using broad pressure, which will help the client to relax while the therapist can work into deeper muscles and accomplish more during the session. Ashiatsu promotes more blood flow than hands-on and not recomnded for females pregnant or on their menstrual moon cycle. I personally feel blood flow to the sacrum aiding in Kundalini rising up the spine, cranial fluid flow and blood flow to the brain.
Ashiatsu has ancient Eastern roots, dating back centuries, but with a modern Western flair. I love Ashiatsu for postural support and utilize my knowledge of soft tissue/ fascia direction and body structure while giving the massage.
Great for the following:
Manuel Lymphatic Drainage (MLD):
Is a very gentle, 'light touch' form of massage based on pumping, circular and spiral shaped movements, which encourage the lymph fluid to flow more freely around the body. This change in pressure creates a pumping effect, which encourages the flow of the lymph fluid and drains excess fluid out of the connective tissue. The strokes are performed evenly and rhythmically inducing deep relaxation. Manual lymphatic drainage increases the flow of the lymph fluid through the lymph nodes encouraging the production of lymphocytes and hence aiding in the prevention of disease.
MLD renews, nourishes, strengthens and regenerates the cells, removes waste products, relaxes the nervous system and may increase the immune system.
It also may prevent many chronic conditions, e.g.:
Prevents and remedies many chronic conditions:
